Anitta (singer)

Larissa de Macedo Machado (born 30 March 1993), known professionally as Anitta, is a Brazilian singer, songwriter, dancer, and occasional television host and actress. Upon the releasing of her debut single "Meiga e Abusada" (2012), Anitta signed a recording contract with Warner Music Brazil in January 2013. In July of same year, she released her self-titled debut album, Anitta, which produced four hit singles on charts and was certified platinum. Her second studio album, Ritmo Perfeito ('perfect rhythm'; 2014), achieved commercial success in Lusophone countries, and was accompanied by the release of her first live album, Meu Lugar ('my place'), on the same day. In 2015, she released her third studio album, Bang, which was certified platinum and spawned four successful singles: "Deixa Ele Sofrer" ('let him suffer'), the title track "Bang", "Essa Mina é Louca" ('this girl is crazy'), and "Cravo e Canela" ('carnation and cinnamon'). The album played a crucial role in propelling Anitta to the top of the Brazilian and Portuguese music industries. Between 2016 and 2018, Anitta collaborated with numerous international artists, such as Alesso, Iggy Azalea, J Balvin, Maluma, Major Lazer and Nile Rodgers, among others. In 2017, Anitta released her first full song in Spanish, though titled in Portuguese, called "Paradinha" ('little stop'); the song, and its accompanying sultry dance routines and music video, greatly accelerated her crossover appeal to Spanish-language Latin and reggaetón scenes. Her second collaboration with Colombian singer and friend J Balvin, "Downtown", became her breakthrough song in several Spanish-speaking markets. Between 2019 and 2021, Anitta recorded many more successful collaborations, with artists as varied as the Black Eyed Peas, Cardi B, Luis Fonsi, Madonna, Myke Towers, Natti Natasha, Ozuna, Rita Ora, Sofía Reyes and Wisin. She later received critical acclaim for her trilingual fourth studio-visual album, Kisses (2019), which earned her a nomination for the Latin Grammy Award for Best Urban Music Album.
