Indrajit Prasad is Bangladeshi endocrinologist, academic and medical researcher. He is a professor and Head of the Department of Diabetes & Endocrinology at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH). He is specializes in medicine, diabetes, thyroid and hormone disease. Dr. Indrajit Prasad was born on January 2, 1976 and lived on Elephant Road, Dhanmondi, Dhaka. Dr. Prasad has earned his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from Dhaka Medical College (DMC) in 1999. Following this, he pursued further specialization in the field of Internal medicine and obtained the degree of Fellowship of College of Physicians & Surgeon (FCPS) from Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons (BCPS) on January 2006. Then he obtained the degree of Doctorate of Medicine (MD) in Endocrinology & Metabolism from BIRDEM (Bangladesh Institute of Research and Rehabilitation in Diabetes, Endocrine and Metabolic Disorders) on 2007. He also completed another fellowship program at 2015 on Master of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology (MACE) from American college of Endocrinology in United States of America. Dr. Prasad held the position of assistant professor in the Endocrinology department at Sir Salimullah Medical College (SSMC). Later he joined Dhaka Medical College and Hospital and served as an Assistant professor and then assumed the esteemed position of Head of the Department of Diabetes & Endocrinology. He assumed the role of a teacher for the Hypertension Certificate Course (CCH) in Hypertension and Research Center, Rangpur. He pioneered the introduction of inferior petrosal sinus sampling in Bangladesh. He is a life member of the Bangladesh Endocrine Society (BES).
