The Hydraulic Construction Laboratory (PL-LCH) at EPFL focuses on fundamental research and innovation in hydraulic engineering for sustainable water resource management. Using state-of-the-art approaches like analytics, physical experiments, and numerical simulations, the laboratory covers a wide range of activities including hydropower, sediment management, flood protection, ecohydraulics, and more. Research projects at PL-LCH investigate topics such as geomembrane systems in pressure waterways, sediment transport, river morphology, and habitat connectivity. The laboratory also offers student projects in various areas of hydraulic engineering under the supervision of Prof. Paolo Perona and Dr. Giovanni De Cesare.
