Les algorithmes mémétiques sont nés d'une hybridation entre les algorithmes génétiques et les algorithmes de recherche locale. Ils utilisent le même processus de résolution que les algorithmes génétiques mais utilisent un opérateur de recherche locale après celui de mutation.
