This lecture explores the work of Brussels-based artist Richard Venlet, who combines sculpture, art history research, exhibition design, and architecture to create 'environments' out of spaces. Venlet's installations offer whimsical reconfigurations of architectural space, incorporating the work of other artists and collaborators. By intervening in a space, Venlet provides viewers with an experience of alienation, prompting them to see their surroundings anew and engage actively with the environment.
