This lecture covers the fundamentals of filters, focusing on Chebyshev approximation. It explains the properties of Chebyshev polynomials, the location of poles, order determination, frequency response comparisons, design procedures, transfer function examples, and polynomial forms. The lecture also discusses Butterworth and Chebyshev comparisons, RLC filter design tools, and first-order active-RC and OTA-C filters. Various filter designs based on inverting and noninverting amplifiers are explored, along with examples of Chebyshev filters and OTA implementations.
