Cogeneration: Performance and Operation

This lecture explores how to evaluate the performance of cogeneration processes, assess the efficiency of producing two products, and operate power plants to generate both electricity and useful heat. Different performance indicators, such as thermal efficiency, electrical efficiency, heat production efficiency, and utilization factor, are discussed. The lecture also covers the operation modes of combined heat and power plants, including the use of power heat diagrams to analyze the tradeoff between electricity and heat production.
