This lecture explores different forms of synaptic plasticity, including short-term and long-term enhancement, depression, and depletion. It delves into the mechanisms of synaptic plasticity, such as Hebbian learning rules and the role of NMDAR and AMPAR. Various experimental protocols for inducing plasticity are discussed, from low-frequency to high-frequency stimulation. The lecture also covers spike-time dependent plasticity and the involvement of dendritic spines in plasticity processes. Different computational models, including rate-based, spike-timing-based, voltage-based, calcium-based, and subcellular models, are presented to understand the complex dynamics of synaptic plasticity.
