This lecture covers the operation of plants for organic micropollutant treatment, focusing on the required ozone injection, PAC treatment in Swiss wastewater plants, and the results of pilot studies. It discusses the design criteria, PAC dosage, and treatment results at WWTP Bachwis in Herisau. The presentation also includes the direct PAC dosage into biology, rapid sand filtration, and the removal efficiency of various micropollutants. The instructor presents the challenges faced in introducing PAC into the water phase and the transport of wetted PAC, as well as the impact of substance choice on dosage requirements.
