This lecture covers the concept of Master Plan Scheduling (MPS) in production management, including topics such as course framework, aggregate planning, disaggregation, rough-cut capacity planning, and the procedure for Capacity Planning using Overall Planning Factors (CPOPF). The instructor explains the process of proposing and authorizing an MPS, as well as the use of authorized MPS in Material Requirement Planning (MRP). Through examples and case studies, students learn how to evaluate the feasibility of proposed MPS, allocate capacity requirements, and handle new customer orders effectively.
