This lecture covers the establishment of Darcy's law in saturated soil, including concepts such as hydraulic conductivity, flow rate, pressure drop, and gradient. It also discusses the tortuosity factor of liquid fillets and the generalization of Darcy's law in different flow scenarios. The application of Darcy's law in calculating flow rates through soil columns and the influence of soil properties on hydraulic conductivity are explored. Various methods for determining hydraulic conductivity, such as the auger hole method and pumping tests, are also presented.
