This lecture introduces thematic variables derived from altitude numerical models, which complement slope, orientation, and curvature analyses. Visibility analyses find applications in ecology, assessing the impact of new constructions. Calculating potential solar energy received on relief is crucial in promoting renewable energies. Altitude numerical models play a significant role in hydrology, enabling the calculation of drainage lines and watershed delineation. Examples provided demonstrate the usefulness of altitude numerical models in developing prevention methods for various areas such as floods, landslides, urban planning, and public health.
