This lecture covers the principles of heat transfer in windows and coatings, focusing on spectral transmittance, reflectance, and absorptance. Topics include single-layer window analysis, radiosity, and directional-hemispherical reflectivity. The lecture also discusses the fraction of incident radiation reflected, transmitted, and absorbed in different scenarios, such as glass layers and multiple parallel windows. Additionally, it explores the transmittance and reflectance of double-glazed windows separated by air, as well as the radiative properties of surfaces and enclosures with windows.
