Energy-Efficient Data Centers

This lecture discusses the challenges posed by the increasing energy consumption of data centers worldwide and presents the YINZ project, which aims to develop innovative technologies and design methodologies to significantly reduce energy consumption in data centers. The project involves interdisciplinary collaborations in computer, electrical, and mechanical engineering, focusing on system-level design approaches, new cooling technologies, smart embedded systems, and near-threshold silicon technologies. By integrating novel power and thermal management solutions, YINZ seeks to create a more sustainable and energy-efficient IT ecosystem.
