Time has always been a central factor in understanding the challenges of daily mobility. For a long time, and still today, methods of economic evaluation of transport projects have monetized time savings so that they can be included in the cost–benefit analysis. This chapter presents the current state of knowledge concerning the qualitative dimension of travel time. It reviews the renewed interest of researchers in the question of the experience of travel time in the field of transport and mobility. The experience of travel time has challenged researchers in the field of transportation and mobility for several years, across a multiplicity of disciplines. The chapter discusses the methods used to measure the use of travel time, emphasizing the importance of mixed methods in the construction of the theoretical bases that constitute the subject. Works on the use and appropriation of travel time take different directions depending on the disciplines and approaches used.
