The Digital Physics Chair of the Condensed Matter (C3MP) at EPFL, led by Prof. Oleg Yazyev, focuses on exploring the fundamental properties and potential applications of novel materials through computer simulations. Their research spans graphene, topological electronic phases, spin systems, and skyrmion materials. By employing high-throughput computational screening, they have successfully predicted several new topological insulators and semimetals, subsequently confirmed experimentally. The group's work also includes investigating magnetic exchange interactions in monolayer materials, inducing magnetic phase transitions via lattice deformations, and utilizing an artificial neural network approach to solve analytic continuation problems.
