The Swiss-up Headquarters in Engineering - Electronics Laboratory for Life Sciences (CLSE) at EPFL focuses on personalized medicine by integrating cutting-edge electronic systems with microfluidic bioanalytical devices to enhance medical diagnostics. Their research aims to improve in vitro diagnostics, develop innovative microfluidic systems for single-cell analysis, and advance the separation of micro and nanoparticles in microfluidic devices. They are currently working on a point-of-care diagnostic tool for testing multiple biomarkers of kidney failure and exploring the use of electrorotation to study the impact of amyloidogenic proteins related to Parkinson's disease on cell membranes. Additionally, they are developing a scalable platform for bead-based immunoassays and investigating the use of hydrodynamic traps for single-cell analysis.
