The Geometric Computer Laboratory at EPFL focuses on developing efficient simulation and optimization algorithms for computational design methodologies in advanced material systems and digital fabrication technologies. By leveraging mathematical reasoning, geometric abstractions, and powerful numerical methods, the lab aims to empower creators by designing and fabricating functional physical prototypes. Collaborations with artists, designers, and industry partners validate and inspire their research. The lab's research spans various disciplines, including mathematics, computer science, material science, mechanical engineering, and architecture, to drive innovative computational design solutions for advanced manufacturing and construction.
