Ludwig Group

The Ludwig Group at EPFL focuses on interdisciplinary research in chemical processes and materials, involving materials scientists, chemical and mechanical engineers, chemists, physicists, and biologists. Recent work includes the recovery of rare earth elements and phosphorus from wastes, synthesis of nanomaterials for energy applications, and using algal biomass for recycling nutrients and producing renewable biofuels. They also implement archaea for waste, energy, and medical applications, and develop analytical methods to support waste and energy technology development.
