Habitat Research Center (HRC) at EPFL is an interdisciplinary research platform focusing on urban phenomena. It combines basic research and research by design to explore urbanization in transition. HRC's main research fields include Landscape Habitats, Healthy Habitats, and Productive Habitats. Directed by Paola Vigano, HRC is leading the development of the first Atlas of Landscapes of Paris, aiming to understand and address the challenges of the city's socio-ecological transition. The center's mission is to produce visions and projects related to urbanization, emphasizing the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration and expertise in architecture, engineering, urban ecology, and social sciences.
