The Laboratory of Molecular Nanodynamics (LND) at EPFL specializes in using time-resolved electron microscopy to study dynamics at the nanoscale, particularly focusing on systems with molecular origins. Their research includes investigating the dynamics of nanoscale systems, such as helium nanodroplets, and studying phenomena like the fast dynamics of plant viruses using microsecond time-resolved cryo-EM. The group is known for their work on in situ observation of nanoparticle dynamics, including the fragmentation mechanism of gold nanoparticles under femtosecond laser irradiation.
