The Group for Functionalized Biomaterials at EPFL focuses on developing polymeric materials and multifunctional nanoparticles for various biomedical applications, including polymeric hydrogels for cell transplantation, surface functionalization for viral biosensors, polymeric nano-assemblies for gene delivery, and theranostic nanoparticles. Their research activities involve designing, synthesizing, and evaluating new chemical entities for bio-applications, with a particular interest in nanomaterials, thin surfaces, and biomaterials for therapeutic purposes such as imaging probes, theranostic nanoparticles, cell transplantation devices, and viral biosensors.
