The Chair of Science Technology and Innovation Policy at EPFL focuses on developing innovative measurement methodologies for intangibles and advancing evidence-based innovation policy. Their research delves into the complex relationship between patent secrecy and knowledge dissemination, the impact of skilled immigrant inventors on US innovation, and the loss of scientists in Ukraine due to war. By studying the various actors in the innovation system and identifying causal patterns using econometrics, the chair aims to propose ways to fine-tune the system and improve the policy environment for the knowledge economy.
