The Swiss Institute for Experimental Cancer Research (ISREC) at EPFL's School of Life Sciences conducts research spanning basic and translational cancer research to fundamental cell and developmental biology. Research focuses on genetically engineered mouse models of human cancer, resistance mechanisms to cancer therapy, signalling pathways in embryogenesis, and cell division cycle regulation. Strategic goals include advancing understanding of cancer biology and genetics, developing new therapeutic strategies, and fostering collaboration within EPFL and the Swiss Cancer Center Leman. Directed by Professor Elisa Oricchio, ISREC comprises 13 core and 3 affiliated faculty members who engage in interdisciplinary research and collaborations with institutes like the Institute of Bioengineering (IBI) and the Swiss Cancer Center Leman.
