Information Systems

The Information Systems Department at EPFL is dedicated to implementing the institution's digital strategy. It focuses on developing and executing EPFL's IT strategy and master plan, ensuring IT security, managing the central IT infrastructure, and coordinating with the faculties' IT departments. Led by Rafael Corvalan, the department aims to create a secure, efficient, and user-centric IS to enhance access to information and boost EPFL's operational efficiency. By prioritizing responsible digitalization initiatives in teaching, research, and innovation, the department supports the transformation of EPFL into a sustainable digital administration. Embracing a 'Cloud first' approach and emphasizing privacy and security by design, the department strives to identify new areas of added value and avoid technological debt.
