Ronan BoulicI come from Brittany, France, where I have completed my PhD degree in Computer Science in 1986 from the University of Rennes, France, at the INRIA-IRISA research institute. I also received the Habilitation degree from the University of Grenoble, France, in march 1995. I was hired in 1989 as First Assistant in the VRLAB, I became scientific collaborator, and senior researcher. I'm presently Senior Scientist (MER) and leader of the Immersive Interaction research Group (IIG). I'm co-author of around 150 research papers among which 43 appeared in international peer-reviewed journals. I have contributed to multiple SNF projects and EU projects. Alcherio MartinoliI received my Diploma in Electrical Engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETHZ), and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL). I am currently an Associate Professor at the School of Architecture, Civil, and Environmental Engineering and the head of the Distributed Intelligent Systems and Algorithms Laboratory. Before joining EPFL I carried out research activities at the Institute of Biomedical Engineering of the ETHZ, at the Institute of Industrial Automation of the Spanish Research Council in Madrid, Spain, and at the California Institute of Technology, Pasadena, U.S.A. Heinz HügliHeinz Hügli is professor emeritus at Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne (EPFL). He was a research director and associate professor at the Institute of Microtechnology, University of Neuchâtel, Switzerland, where he teached and headed the Pattern Recognition Laboratory (PARLAB). From 1988 to 2008, this lab was active in computer vision and pattern recognition with emphasis on early vision processing, industrial inspection, 3D object modeling and recognition.
Heinz Hügli received the Diploma in Electrical Engineering and Ph.D. degree from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (EPFZ). He spent five year with the Image processing research group at EPFZ and later two years with the Medical Imaging Science Group, University of Southern California. In 1982 he joined the University of Neuchâtel were he first conducted speech recognition activities and then founded the PARLAB. He teached at the University of Neuchâtel, EPFL and University of Bern. Author of more than 150 scientific publications, he has chaired international conferences, was a member of several scientific societies, and participated in several conference program committees.
