Radivoje PopovicRadivoje Popovic received the Dipl. Ing. degree in engineering physics from the University of Belgrade, Yugoslavia in 1969, and the M.Sc and Dr.Sc. degrees in electronics from the University of Nis, Yugoslavia in 1974 and 1978.
From 1969 to 1981, he worked for Elektronska Industrija in Nis, Yugoslavia, where from 1978 to 1981 he was head of CMOS department. From 1982 to 1993, he was with Landis & Gyr AG, Central R&D in Zug, Switzerland, where from 1991 to 1993 he was vice president.
In 1994 Popovic joined EPFL (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Lausanne, Switzerland), as extraordinary professor for microtechnology systems, and became ordinary professor in 1997. He taught courses in conceptual product design, semiconductor device physics, microelectronics, optical detectors, and integrated sensors; and he was adviser of 20 PhD students. Since 2010 he is professor emeritus.
Currently, he is chief technology officer of SENIS AG (www.senis.ch).
Popovic has published a book on Hall effect devices, and is author or co-author of about 280 technical papers and 93 patent applications. He is co-founder of start-up companies Sentron AG, Sentronis AD, Senis AG, Ametes AG, and Sensima Technology SA. He is member of Swiss Academy of Engineering Sciences, Serbian Academy of Engineering Sciences, and senior member of IEEE.

Declercq received the Electrical Engineering degree and the PhD degree from the Catholic University of Louvain, Belgium, in 1967 and 1971, respectively. In 1973, he was awarded a Senior Fulbright Fellowship, and joined Stanford University as a Research Associate in the Microelectronics Labs. From 1974 to 1978, he was Research Associate and lecturer at the Catholic University of Louvain, Belgium. In 1978, he joined the company Tractebel in Brussels, Belgium, where he was Group Leader of the Electronic Systems team.
In 1985, Dr. Declercq joined the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL), Lausanne, Switzerland, where he is currently Professor, Dean of the School of Engineering, and Director of the Electronics Laboratory. His research activities are related to mixed analog-digital I.C. design and design methodologies. He is more particularly involved in low-power/low-voltage circuits, high-frequency circuits for telecommunications, MEMS and RF-MEMS, SOI technology and circuits, high-voltage circuits and Nano-electronics. He is author and co-author of more than 220 scientific publications and 3 books, and holds several patents.
He is a Fellow of the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers).

Jeffrey HuangJeffrey Huang is the Director of the Institute of Architecture at EPFL (starting May 1, 2020), that comprises 25 laboratories and groups. He is also the Head of the Media x Design Laboratory and a Full Professor in Architecture and Computer Science, at the Faculty of Computer and Communication Sciences (IC), and at the Faculty of Architecture, Civil and Environmental Engineering (ENAC). He holds a DiplArch from ETH Zurich, and Masters and Doctoral Degrees from Harvard University, where he was awarded the Gerald McCue medal for academic excellence. He started his academic career as a researcher at MIT’s Sloan School of Management (Center for Coordination Sciences). In 1998 he returned to Harvard as an Assistant Professor of Architecture and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2001. In 2006 he was named Full Professor at EPFL in Switzerland where he holds joint professorships at I&C and ENAC, and heads the Media x Design Lab. He was also a Visiting Professor at Tsinghua University, a Visiting Fellow at Stanford University’s d.school, a Honorary Visiting Professor at the University of Sheffield, and a Berkman Fellow and Faculty Associate at Harvard University (Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society). Professor Huang’s research examines the convergence of physical and digital architecture. His recent work investigates new artificial design paradigms (design decoding and encoding), theories of experience design, and the application of algorithmic urbanism in Chinese cities. His current teaching examines the possible role of artificial intelligence in architecture (see MxD studios). In collaboration with Muriel Waldvogel, he heads Convergeo, an award-winning, international strategic and experience design firm. From 2014-2017, while on leave from EPFL, he led the creation of a ground-breaking, new school of architecture in Singapore, as the Head of the Architecture and Sustainable Design Pillar at the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD), established in collaboration with MIT.
Pierre VandergheynstPierre Vandergheynst received the M.S. degree in physics and the Ph.D. degree in mathematical physics from the Université catholique de Louvain, Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium, in 1995 and 1998, respectively. From 1998 to 2001, he was a Postdoctoral Researcher with the Signal Processing Laboratory, Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL), Lausanne, Switzerland. He was Assistant Professor at EPFL (2002-2007), where he is now a Full Professor of Electrical Engineering and, by courtesy, of Computer and Communication Sciences. As of 2015, Prof. Vandergheynst serves as EPFL’s Vice-Provost for Education. His research focuses on harmonic analysis, sparse approximations and mathematical data processing in general with applications covering signal, image and high dimensional data processing, computer vision, machine learning, data science and graph-based data processing. He was co-Editor-in-Chief of Signal Processing (2002-2006), Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing (2007-2011), the flagship journal of the signal processing community and currently serves as Associate Editor of Computer Vision and Image Understanding and SIAM Imaging Sciences. He has been on the Technical Committee of various conferences, serves on the steering committee of the SPARS workshop and was co-General Chairman of the EUSIPCO 2008 conference. Pierre Vandergheynst is the author or co-author of more than 70 journal papers, one monograph and several book chapters. He has received two IEEE best paper awards. Professor Vandergheynst is a laureate of the Apple 2007 ARTS award and of the 2009-2010 De Boelpaepe prize of the Royal Academy of Sciences of Belgium.
