Møsvatn
Møsvatn or Møsvann is a lake in Vinje Municipality in Vestfold og Telemark county, Norway. It is the tenth-largest lake in Norway with a surface area of and a volume of . The lake lies just east of the Hardangervidda National Park, in Skien watershed (Skiensvassdrag) catchment area. The lake discharges into the Måna river at a dam located on the Vinje-Tinn municipal border (so a very small part of the lake crosses into Tinn Municipality too). The lake has an irregular shape with three arms.
Norwegian heavy water sabotage
The Norwegian heavy water sabotage (Tungtvannsaksjonen; Tungtvassaksjonen) was a series of Allied-led efforts to halt German heavy water production via hydroelectric plants in Nazi Germany-occupied Norway during World War II, involving both Norwegian commandos and Allied bombing raids. During the war, the Allies sought to inhibit the German development of nuclear weapons with the removal of heavy water and the destruction of heavy-water production plants.
Rjukan
Rjukan (ˈrʉ̀ːkɑn) is a town and the administrative centre of Tinn municipality in Telemark, Norway. It is situated in Vestfjorddalen, between Møsvatn and Lake Tinn, and got its name from the Rjukan Falls west of the town. The Tinn municipality council granted township status for Rjukan in 1996. As of 2022, the town has 3,003 inhabitants. The town was essentially "built from scratch" with industrial developments by Norsk Hydro in the 1910s and 20s. At its peak, Rjukan was a significant industrial center of Telemark.
