Đổi MớiĐổi Mới (ɗo᷉i mə̌ːi; ) is the name given to the economic reforms initiated in Vietnam in 1986 with the goal of creating a "socialist-oriented market economy". The term đổi mới itself is a general term with wide use in the Vietnamese language meaning "innovate" or "renovate". However, the Đổi Mới Policy (Chính sách Đổi Mới) refers specifically to these reforms that sought to transition Vietnam from a command economy to a socialist-oriented market economy.
Cardamom MountainsThe Cardamom Mountains (ជួរភ្នំក្រវាញ, Chuŏr Phnum Krâvanh cuə phnum krɑʋaːɲ; ทิวเขาบรรทัด, Thio Khao Banthat thīw khǎw bān.thát), or the Krâvanh Mountains, is a mountain range in the south west of Cambodia and Eastern Thailand. The mountain range extends along a southeast-northwest axis from Chanthaburi Province in Thailand, and Koh Kong Province in Cambodia on the Gulf of Thailand, to the Veal Veang District in Pursat Province, and extends to the southeast by the Dâmrei (Elephant) Mountains.
Party of Democratic KampucheaThe Party of Democratic Kampuchea was a political party in Cambodia, formed as a continuation of the Communist Party of Kampuchea in December 1981. In the mid-1980s, it publicly claimed that its ideology was "a new form of democratic socialism", having ostensibly renounced Marxism–Leninism. According to the party itself, the dissolution of the CPK and formation of the PDK was prompted by the need for broader unity against Vietnam, a unity which an explicit communist line would hamper.
Ratanakiri provinceRatanakiri (រតនគិរី, UNGEGN: Rôtânôkĭri, ALA-LC: Ratanagirī rɔətanakiriː; Gem Mountains) is a province of northeast Cambodia. It borders the provinces of Mondulkiri to the south and Stung Treng to the west and the countries of Laos (Attapeu) and Vietnam (Gia Lai and Kon Tum) to the north and east, respectively. The province extends from the mountains of the Annamite Range in the north, across a hilly plateau between the Tonlé San and Tonlé Srepok rivers, to tropical deciduous forests in the south.
