Electorate of Saxony
The Electorate of Saxony, also known as Electoral Saxony (Kurfürstentum Sachsen or Kursachsen), was a territory of the Holy Roman Empire from 1356–1806. It was centered around the cities of Dresden, Leipzig and Chemnitz. In the Golden Bull of 1356, Emperor Charles IV designated the Duchy of Saxe-Wittenberg an electorate, a territory whose ruler was one of the prince-electors who chose the Holy Roman emperor. After the extinction of the male Saxe-Wittenberg line of the House of Ascania in 1422, the duchy and the electorate passed to the House of Wettin.
Eisenach
Eisenach (ˈaɪzənax) is a town in Thuringia, Germany with 42,000 inhabitants, located west of Erfurt, southeast of Kassel and northeast of Frankfurt. It is the main urban centre of western Thuringia and bordering northeastern Hessian regions, situated near the former Inner German border. A major attraction is Wartburg castle, which has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1999. Eisenach was an early capital of Thuringia in the 12th and 13th centuries. St. Elizabeth lived at the court of the Ludowingians here between 1211 and 1228.
Bamberg
Bamberg (ˈbæmbɜːrɡ, USalsoˈbɑːmbɛərk, ˈbambɛʁk; East Franconian: Bambärch) is a town in Upper Franconia, Germany, on the river Regnitz close to its confluence with the river Main. Bamberg had 79, 000 inhabitants in 2022. The town dates back to the 9th century, when its name was derived from the nearby Babenberch castle. Cited as one of Germany's most beautiful towns, with medieval streets and buildings, the old town of Bamberg has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1993.
Schweinfurt
Schweinfurt (ˈʃvaɪnfʊərt , ˈʃvaɪnfʊɐ̯t; 'swine ford') is a city in the district of Lower Franconia in Bavaria, Germany. It is the administrative centre of the surrounding district (Landkreis) of Schweinfurt and a major industrial, cultural and educational hub. The urban agglomeration has 100,200 (2018) and the city's catchment area, including the Main-Rhön region and parts of South Thuringia, 759,000 inhabitants. Schweinfurt was first documented in 791 and is one of the oldest cities in Bavaria.

Franconia (Franken, ˈfʁaŋkŋ̍; Franconian: Franggn ˈfrɑŋɡŋ̍; Frankn) is a region of Germany, characterised by its culture and Franconian dialect (German: Fränkisch). While several Germanic dialects are referred to as Franconian (including Dutch), only the East Franconian dialects are also colloquially referred to as "Franconian", and only the East Franconian dialect area is regarded as Franconia.
Erfurt
Erfurt (ˈɛʁfʊʁt) is the capital and largest city of the Central German state of Thuringia. It is in the wide valley of the River Gera, in the southern part of the Thuringian Basin, north of the Thuringian Forest, and in the middle of a line of the six largest Thuringian cities (Thüringer Städtekette), stretching from Eisenach in the west, via Gotha, Erfurt, Weimar and Jena, to Gera in the east, close to the geographic centre of Germany. Erfurt is south-west of Leipzig, north-east of Frankfurt, south-west of Berlin and north of Munich.
