Tokyo Bayis a bay located in the southern Kantō region of Japan, and spans the coasts of Tokyo, Kanagawa Prefecture, and Chiba Prefecture. Tokyo Bay is connected to the Pacific Ocean by the Uraga Channel. The Tokyo Bay region is both the most populous and largest industrialized area in Japan. In ancient times, Japanese knew Tokyo Bay as the 内海. By the Azuchi–Momoyama period (1568–1600) the area had become known as Edo Bay after the city of Edo. The bay took its present name in modern times, after the Imperial court moved to Edo and renamed the city Tokyo in 1868.

Mount Fuji, located on the island of Honshū, is an active stratovolcano in Japan, with a summit elevation of . It is the tallest mountain in Japan, the second-highest volcano located on an island in Asia (after Mount Kerinci on the island of Sumatra), and seventh-highest peak of an island on Earth. Mount Fuji last erupted from 1707 to 1708. The mountain is located about southwest of Tokyo and is visible from there on clear days.
