Romagnol
Romagnol (Rumagnòl, or Rumagnôl; romagnolo) is a Romance language spoken in the historical region of Romagna, consisting mainly of the southeastern part of Emilia-Romagna, Italy. The name is derived from the Lombard name for the region, Romagna. Romagnol is also spoken outside the region, particularly in the independent Republic of San Marino. Romagnol is classified as endangered because older generations have "neglected to pass on the dialect as a native tongue to the next generation".
Kingdom of the Lombards
The Kingdom of the Lombards (Regnum Langobardorum; Regno dei Longobardi; Regn di Lombard), also known as the Lombard Kingdom and later as the Kingdom of all Italy (Regnum totius Italiae), was an early medieval state established by the Lombards, a Germanic people, on the Italian Peninsula in the latter part of the 6th century. The king was traditionally elected by the very highest-ranking aristocrats, the dukes, as several attempts to establish a hereditary dynasty failed.
Cleph
Cleph (also Clef, Clepho, or Kleph) was king of the Lombards from 572 to 574. He succeeded Alboin, to whom he was not related by blood. He was a violent and terrifying figure to the Romans and Byzantines struggling to maintain control of the Italian Peninsula. He was assassinated after an 18-month reign by a young guard, a slave whom he had mistreated.
