Eastern Front (World War II)The Eastern Front of World War II was a theatre of conflict between the European Axis powers against the Soviet Union (USSR), Poland and other Allies, which encompassed Central Europe, Eastern Europe, Northeast Europe (Baltics), and Southeast Europe (Balkans) from 22 June 1941 to 9 May 1945. Of the estimated 70–85 million deaths attributed to World War II, around 30 million occurred on the Eastern Front, including 9 million children.
GroznyGrozny (Грозный; Соьлжа-ГӀала), also spelled Groznyy or Grozniy, is the capital city of Chechnya, Russia. The city lies on the Sunzha River. According to the 2010 census, it had a population of 271,573 — up from 210,720 recorded in the 2002 census, but still only about two-thirds of 399,688 recorded in the 1989 census. It was previously known as Groznaya (until 1870). In Russian, "Grozny" means "fearsome", "menacing", or "redoubtable", the same word as in Ivan Grozny (Ivan the Terrible).
Communist Party of EstoniaThe Communist Party of Estonia (Eestimaa Kommunistlik Partei, abbreviated EKP) was a political party in Estonia. The party was founded in 1920, functioned as the republican-level organization of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union in the Estonian SSR 1940–1990. The predecessor of EKP was formed on 5 November 1920, when the Central Committee of the Estonian Sections of the Russian Communist Party (Bolsheviks) was separated from its mother party.

Czechoslovak LegionThe Czechoslovak Legion (Czech: Československé legie; Slovak: Československé légie) were volunteer armed forces comprised predominantly of Czechs and Slovaks fighting on the side of the Entente powers during World War I. Their goal was to win the support of the Allied Powers for the independence of Lands of the Bohemian Crown from the Austrian Empire and of Slovak territories from the Kingdom of Hungary, which were then part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.

NovosibirskNovosibirsk (ˌnoʊvəsɪˈbɪərsk,_-voʊs-, also UKˌnɒv-; Новосиби́рск, nəvəsjɪˈbjirsk) is the largest city and administrative centre of Novosibirsk Oblast and the Siberian Federal District in Russia. As of the 2021 Census, it had a population of 1,633,595, making it the most populous city in Siberia and the third-most populous city in Russia after Moscow and Saint Petersburg. The city is located in southwestern Siberia, on the banks of the Ob River.
OkhranaThe Department for Protecting the Public Security and Order (Отделение по охранению общественной безопасности и порядка), usually called the Guard Department (Охранное отделение) and commonly abbreviated in modern English sources as the Okhrana (Охрана) was a secret-police force of the Russian Empire and part of the police department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD) in the late 19th century and early 20th century, aided by the Special Corps of Gendarmes.
