KrnjačaKrnjača (Крњача, kř̩ɲat͡ʃa) is an urban neighborhood of Belgrade, the capital of Serbia. It is located in Belgrade's municipality of Palilula. Krnjača is located on the left bank of the Danube, across the Belgrade proper, to which it is connected only by one bridge, the Pančevo Bridge. The settlement is built behind the long embankment along the Danube, but it is still often flooded by the river. Krnjača is much scattered and stretched along two major roads in this area, the Pančevački put which connects Belgrade to the city of Pančevo and Zrenjaninski put which connects Belgrade to the city of Zrenjanin.
Pančevački RitPančevački Rit (Панчевачки рит) is a small geographical area in south-western Banat, Serbia. It is situated between the rivers Danube and Tamiš, in Belgrade's municipality of Palilula. Its wetland was constantly flooded, but since World War II it has been drained part by part and almost half of it has been turned into a very fertile patch of land, suitable especially for cultivating grains and vegetables.
Timiș (river)The Timiș or Tamiš (Timiș, Тамиш; Temesch, Temes) is a long river that flows through the Banat region of Romania and Serbia and joins the Danube near Pančevo, in northern Serbia. Due to its position in the region, it has been labeled as the "spine of the Banat". In antiquity, the river was known as Tibiscus (in Latin) and Tibisis (Θίβισις in ancient Greek); in addition, Edward Gibbon referred to it as the Teyss.
Pančevo BridgePančevo Bridge (Pančevački most) or colloquially Pančevac (Панчевац) is a bridge over the Danube in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia. It was named after the northern city of Pančevo (in Vojvodina) which is connected to Belgrade by the road continuing from the bridge. It was the first permanent bridge across the Danube in Belgrade, and until December 2014, when the Pupin Bridge opened further upstream in the municipality of Zemun, the only one.

It is located on the shores of rivers Tamiš and Danube, in the southern part of Banat region. Since the 2022 census 115,454 people have been living in the Pančevo administrative area. Pančevo is the third largest city in Vojvodina and the sixth largest in Serbia by population.

Belgrade is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in Europe and the world.
