Kozhikode is classified as a Tier 2 city by the Government of India. It is the largest city in the region known as the Malabar and was the capital of the British-era Malabar district.
Venad (kingdom)Venad was a medieval kingdom lying between the Western Ghat mountains and the Arabian Sea on the south-western tip of India with its headquarters at the port city of Kollam/Quilon. LakshadweepLakshadweep is a union territory of India. It is an archipelago of 36 islands in the Arabian sea, located off the Malabar Coast.
