Derby railway station
Derby railway station (ˈdɑrbi, also known as Derby Midland) is a main line railway station serving the city of Derby in Derbyshire, England. Owned by Network Rail and managed by East Midlands Railway, the station is also used by CrossCountry services. It lies north of London St Pancras. It is situated to the south-east of Derby city centre, and is close to the west bank of the River Derwent. The decision by the Midland Railway to have its headquarters in Derby made the town a busy node of the rail network.

Newark-on-Trent (ˈnjuːəkɒnˈtrɛnt) or Newark is a market town and civil parish in the Newark and Sherwood district in Nottinghamshire, England. It is on the River Trent, and was historically a major inland port. The A1 road bypasses the town on the line of the ancient Great North Road. The town's origins are likely to be Roman, as it lies on a major Roman road, the Fosse Way. It grew up round Newark Castle, St Mary Magdalene church and later developed as a centre for the wool and cloth trades.
Derby
Derby (ˈdɑrbi ) is a city and unitary authority area on the River Derwent in Derbyshire, England. The county is named after Derby, which was its original county town. As a unitary authority, Derby is administratively independent from Derbyshire County Council. The city's population was 261,400 in 2021. The Romans established the town of Derventio, which was later captured by the Anglo-Saxons and then by the Vikings who made Djúra-bý one of the Five Boroughs of the Danelaw.
Ruddington
Ruddington (ˈrʌdɪŋtən) is a large village in the Borough of Rushcliffe in Nottinghamshire, England. The village is south of Nottingham and northwest of Loughborough. It had a population of 6,441 at the 2001 Census, increasing to 7,216 at the 2011 Census. The village residents have previously conducted high-profile campaigns in an attempt to retain the rural identity as a village and prevent it being subsumed into the adjoining suburban village of Clifton and town of West Bridgford.
West Bridgford
West Bridgford (ˈbrɪdʒfərd) is a town and the administrative centre of the Borough of Rushcliffe in the county of Nottinghamshire, England. It lies immediately south of Nottingham, east of Wilford, north of Ruddington and west of Radcliffe-on-Trent. It is southwest of Colwick and southeast of Beeston which are on the opposite bank of the River Trent. The town is part of the Nottingham Urban Area and had a population of 48,225 in a 2018-estimate. West Bridgford was founded between 919 and 924 when defences and houses were built at the south end of Trent Bridge.

Leicester (ˈlɛstər ) is a city, unitary authority area, unparished area and the county town of Leicestershire in the East Midlands of England. It is the largest city in the East Midlands. Its population was 368,600 in 2021, increased by 38,800 ( 11.8%) from around 329,800 in 2011. The greater Leicester urban area had a population of 559,017 in 2021, making it the 11th most populous in England, and the 13th most populous in the United Kingdom.
Coalville
Coalville is a town and unparished area in the district of North West Leicestershire, Leicestershire in the East Midlands of England, with a population at the 2011 census of 34,575. It lies on the A511 trunk road between Leicester and Burton upon Trent, close to junction 22 of the M1 motorway where the A511 meets the A50 between Ashby-de-la-Zouch and Leicester. It borders the upland area of Charnwood Forest to the east of the town. Coalville is twinned with Romans-sur-Isère in southeastern France.

Nottingham (ˈnɒtɪŋəm , locally ˈnɒtnʊm) is a city and unitary authority area in Nottinghamshire, East Midlands, England. It is located north-west of London, south-east of Sheffield and north-east of Birmingham. Nottingham has links to the legend of Robin Hood and to the lace-making, bicycle and tobacco industries. The city is also the county town of Nottinghamshire and the settlement was granted its city charter in 1897, as part of Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee celebrations.
Northampton
Northampton (nɔːrˈθæmptən) is a market town and civil parish in the East Midlands of England, situated on the River Nene, approximately north-west of London and south-east of Birmingham. It is the historic county town of Northamptonshire and the administrative centre of the unitary authority of West Northamptonshire. Northampton is one of the largest towns in England; the population of its urban area was recorded as 245,899 in the 2021 census. Archaeological evidence of settlement in the area dates to the Bronze Age, Romans and Anglo-Saxons.

Nottinghamshire (ˈnɒtɪŋəmʃər,_-ʃɪər; abbreviated Notts.) is a ceremonial county in the East Midlands of England. The county borders South Yorkshire to the north-west, Lincolnshire to the east, Leicestershire to the south, and Derbyshire to the west. The largest settlement is the city of Nottingham (323,632). The county has an area of and a population of 1,154,195. The latter is concentrated in the Nottingham built-up area in the south-west, which extends into Derbyshire and has a population of 729,997.
