Jimena de la Frontera is a historic town and municipality located in the province of Cádiz, Spain. According to estimates made by the National Statistics Institute of Spain (INE), the municipality has a population of 6,707 inhabitants as of 2020. The municipality contains three major towns, Jimena de la Frontera, Los Ángeles and San Pablo de Buceite. Other towns include Montenegral Alto and Marchenilla. It is situated in the eastern part of the province, on the (San Roque-Ronda) road. It is located near Málaga, practically being the border between the provinces of Málaga and Cádiz. Its location between the Serranía de Ronda and the Bay of Algeciras preserves one of the most important Mediterranean forest spots in southern Europe: the Alcornocales Natural Park. Almost two thirds of the municipality belongs to the park. The existence of caves and natural shelters with abundant remains and cave paintings throughout the Campo de Gibraltar indicates the existence of human settlements that date back to the Palaeolithic. Jimena de la Frontera is no exception, with the paintings of Laja Alta, with unique maritime scenes from the Bronze Age in the Iberian Peninsula. The ancient Phoenician city of Oba, known for its minting of coins in the Libyan-Phoenician alphabet, is usually identified with Jimena. In the castle, epigraphs have been found with the text: res publica Obensis. This name was used during Roman times. During this period, Jimena flourished as a commercial and strategic center. According to local tradition, the great-grandfather of Mark Antony was born here. The location of the town, sheltered by hills but reasonably close to the Strait of Gibraltar, meant that its strategic functionality was exploited by the different peoples that have populated it. Thus, after the fall of the Roman Empire, the site served as a defensive post over the Strait of Gibraltar for the Visigoths, who lost it to Byzantine hands in the 6th century. According to a local legend, the great-grandfather of Mark Antony was born here.

Bellerive CARIS - Centre Autogéré Romand de l’Improvisation et de la Scène

C’est l’été, il est 20h07, le ciel n’est pas trop sombre. Vous vous rendez au match d’improvisation qui se tient ce soir au nouveau CARIS. Vous décidez de sortir du bus à Cèdres et quittez la station avec les autres voyageurs.euse.s. Vous entamez la descente à pied de l’Avenue des Bains et vous en profitez pour saluer Tschumi (le père, bien sûr). Peu après, la tête ronde et les lettres rouges de Bellerive-Plage apparaissent au loin, rapidement suivies de la silhouette allongée du CARIS. Le nouveau bâtiment coupe l’ancien parking de la « place Bellerive » en deux. Vous vous dites que c’est un nom étrange pour un parking qui n’était ni directement une « rive », ni particulièrement « beau » et pas tellement une « place » au final. Mais ces pensées vous quittent aussitôt car vous arrivez à la hauteur de la billetterie. Vous aimez jeter un coup d’œil au lac qui paraît bien plus proche, visible qu’il est à travers le couloir transperçant le bâtiment et filtré par la masse l’irrégulière de la file des retardataires venus acheter les derniers billets sur place. Ce tableau en tête, vous vous félicitez d’avoir acheté vos billets sur internet avant de rejoindre les autres spectateur.ice.s déjà assis.e.s dans la fameuse « fosse » devant la scène extérieure. La légende raconte que c’est Armand, le gardien des lieux, qui est chargé de monter et descendre à mains nues chaque scène pour chaque représentation. Mais c’est le silence qui cette fois vient interrompre vos réflexions : le spectacle commence…

Fragmentación y Movilidad urbana. El espacio público como plataforma de análisis

Los espacios públicos son lugares a partir de los cuales los dispositivos de la gestión urbana pueden ser pensados y expuestos. Pero también son lugares que inapropiados, maltratados o mal utilizados, pueden también contribuir a destruir la composición urbana. El concepto del espacio público no debe limitarse a la simple idea de un conjunto de andenes, parques y plazas que adornan una ciudad; las dinámicas sociales que allí se producen, deben ser componentes fuertes del discurso. Los flujos en las ciudades tejen y fabrican este espacio público, convirtiéndolo en un elemento mayor que modifica continuamente la morfología urbana. En ciertos casos, estas mutaciones podrían traducirse en fragmentaciones físicas, generadas de manera natural o por consecuencia de la planificación urbana, que conllevarían a la aparición de fragmentaciones sociales dentro del territorio de la ciudad (inequidades, segregaciones sociales, etc.). De aquí el interés de analizar las relaciones entre la fragmentación y movilidad urbana, tomando como punto de observación el espacio publico.
