Luca Giovanni Pattaroni
Suite à une formation en Relations Internationales (Institut des Hautes Etudes Internationales, Genève) et un DEA en sciences sociales (Ecole Normale Supérieure de Paris/Ulm), Luca Pattaroni a soutenu une thèse de sociologie en cotutelle (Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales, Paris/ Université de Genève) sous la direction de Laurent Thévenot (EHESS) et Jean Kellerhals (Université de Genève).  Après avoir occupé durant 5 ans un poste d’'assistant à la Faculté de Droit (Université de Genève), il a été visiting scholar à l’Université de Columbia (New York). Il travaille désormais au Laboratoire de Sociologie Urbaine (EPFL) et est associé au Groupe de Sociologie Politique et Morale de l'Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (GSPM/EHESS). En 2011, il a été Professeur invité à l'Université Fédérale de Fluminense (Brésil).  Ses recherches et publications portent sur les politiques urbaines et culturelles, l’habitat, les mouvements sociaux, les rythmes urbains et les grandes manifestation, l’évolution des modes de vie ainsi que, plus largement les enjeux du commun dans les villes contemporaines.   Spécialiste des méthodes mixtes ainsi que de théorie sociologique et politique, il cherche à articuler une analyse fine du pluralisme des modes de vie et un questionnement sur les enjeux politiques et moraux de la composition d’un monde commun.
Maxime Carl Felder
Maxime Felder holds a PhD in sociology from the University of Geneva. His dissertation - "Building familiarity. Coexistence in an urban context" - dealt with how urbanites manage to coexist peacefully, in a residential context, without knowing each other personally. He is now involved in a new research project on cities' hospitality towards newcomers.
Daniel Harasim
I am a Postdoctoral Researcher in Computational Musicology at the Digital and Cognitive Musicology Lab (DCML).My main research focus lies on probabilistic modeling of musical structures at the moment, combining approaches from machine learning, Bayesian statistics, computer linguistics, and music theory. Besides, I am studying and developing methods related to representation learning and probabilistic programming.In my PhD thesis The Learnability of the Grammar of Jazz: Bayesian Inference of Hierarchical Structures in Harmony, supervised by Martin Rohrmeier (EPFL) and Timothy O’Donnell (McGill University), I simulated how abstract knowledge about musical structure is learnable without a teacher from listening and engaging with music.In 2015, I earned a master’s degree in mathematics and computer science at the TU Dresden where I in particular worked on geometric structures of voice-leading spaces. My research interests further include topics from mathematical music theory, music cognition, and computational cognitive science. Aside from my academic activities, I enjoy playing the upright bass in Jazz improvisations.
Christoph Finkensiep
Since 2017, Christoph is a doctoral researcher at the Digital andCognitive Musicology Lab. He obtained his Master's degree in CognitiveScience at the University of Osnabrück with a thesis entitled"A Formal Model of Voice Leading" (2017). His Bachelor in ComputerScience at the University of Paderborn was completed with a thesisthat addressed the problem of "Automatic Composition of SemanticWebservices" (2014).His current research focuses on computational modeling of musicalstructure. Further scientific interests include music cognition,probabilistic modeling and machine learning, artificial intelligence,as well as philosophy of mind and philosophy of science. In addition, heis an active trombonist and occassional arranger, composer, and conductor.
