La sédimentation des réservoirs est une problématique globale réduisant le volume d’eau disponible dans les réservoirs de barrages et induisant des pertes aux niveaux énergétique, économique et environnemental. Le transport de sédiments du bassin versant pendant les crues engendrent des courants chargés de sédiments. Dû à la différence de densité entre ces courants et l’eau dans la retenue, des courants de turbidité peuvent se former. Ces derniers sont capables d’atteindre les barrages et représentent la source principale de sédiments fins déposés dans les réservoirs. Afin de réduire la sédimentation qui résulte des courants de turbidité, leur évacuation à travers les vidanges ou prises de fond est proposée comme une solution économique et favorable à l’environnement. Dans l’étude présentée, il s’agit de tester plusieurs paramètres pouvant influencer la quantité de sédiments évacués des courants de turbidité à travers un orifice rectangulaire représentant la vidange de fond. D’un intérêt particulier sont les vidanges de fond à capacité restreinte par rapport aux débits des courants de turbidité comme c’est le cas en Suisse. Cela a permis la détermination des conditions menant à maximiser la masse de sédiments évacués et minimiser les pertes d’eau du réservoir. A cette fin, un modèle expérimental et un modèle numérique ont été utilisés.

Navigation pédestre dans un environnement construit

Cet article présente le développement et l'implémentation d'algorithmes permettant l'accès à une base de données à partir d'un système de navigation pédestre. La première étape décrit un modèle topologique 3D spécialement développé pour la localisation. Les éléments constitutifs d'un bâtiment, comme les corridors, les escaliers et les pièces, sont modélisés afin d'assurer une cohérence pour les besoins de la navigation. La construction du réseau s'appuie sur la théorie des graphes qui préconise l'usage de figures élémentaires : les arcs et les noeuds. Ce type de modèle a le grand avantage d'être adapté aux algorithmes de navigation qui demandent une prise de décision à chaque noeud. La deuxième étape décrit les principes des algorithmes de map matching. Un système de navigation pédestre fournit la position de l'utilisateur qui doit être combinée avec le modèle arcnoeud de la base de données. Cette recherche sur la navigation à l'intérieur des bâtiments a permis l'évaluation d'algorithmes de navigation en post-traitement. Plusieurs trajectoires ont été mesurées à l'intérieur des bâtiments, permettant l'analyse de performance du système.
