There was a sense that, 'I don't like the way things are, but there's nothing I can do about it.' I thought: I'm going to show these people." Ali moved to Montgomery County, Maryland in 1991 to attend the University of Maryland, College Park. He went on to receive Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Computer Science.
