Chinese Cultural Renaissance
The Chinese Cultural Renaissance or the Chinese Cultural Renaissance Movement () was a movement promoted in Taiwan in opposition to the cultural destructions caused by the Chinese Communist Party during the Cultural Revolution. The Chinese Cultural Revival Movement is an ideological and cultural movement launched by the government of the Republic of China with the aim of reviving Chinese culture. Nanyang (region)
Nanyang () is the Chinese term for the warmer and fertile geographical region along the southern coastal regions of China and beyond, otherwise known as the 'South Sea' or Southeast Asia. Generalissimo (ˌdʒɛnərəˈlɪsɪmoʊ ) is a military rank of the highest degree, superior to field marshal and other five-star ranks in the states where they are used. The word generalissimo (dʒeneraˈlissimo), an Italian term, is the absolute superlative of generale ('general') thus meaning "the highest-ranking of all generals". The superlative suffix -issimo itself derives from Latin -issimus, meaning "utmost, to the highest grade". Similar cognates in other languages include generalísimo in Spanish, generalíssimo in Portuguese, généralissime in French, and generalissimus in Latin.
National Anthem of the Republic of China
The "Three Principles of the People" is the national anthem of Taiwan. It was adopted in 1930 as China's national anthem and was used as such in Mainland China until 1949, when the Republic of China central government relocated to Taiwan following its defeat by the Chinese Communist Party in the Chinese Civil War. It replaced the "Song to the Auspicious Cloud", which had been used as the Chinese national anthem before. The national anthem was adopted in Taiwan on October 25, 1945 after the surrender of Imperial Japan.
