DH-406: Machine learning for DHThis course aims to introduce the basic principles of machine learning in the context of the digital humanities. We will cover both supervised and unsupervised learning techniques, and study and implement methods to analyze diverse data types, such as images, music and social network data.
AR-219: Advanced CAO and Integrated Modeling DIM1ère année: bases nécessaires à la représentation informatique 2D (3D).
CS-486: Interaction designThis course focuses on goal-directed design and interaction design, two subjects treated in depth in the Cooper book (see reference below). To practice these two methods, we propose a design challenge, which is further divided into mini-projects evenly spaced throughout the semester.
CS-438: Decentralized systems engineeringA decentralized system is one that works when no single party is in charge or fully trusted. This course teaches decentralized systems principles while guiding students through the development and testing of their own decentralized system incorporating messaging, encryption, and blockchain concepts.
ME-302: Mechanical design principlesWe will study the working principles and physics of essential mechanical components for diverse applications in engineering mechanics. The course will serve as a vehicle to introduce and synthesize new mechanisms to strengthen the often-intuitive design processes.
MGT-201: Introduction to entrepreneurshipThis course provides an introduction to the topic of entrepreneurship, the process of new firm creation and the commercialization of technologies. The course integrates theories of entrepreneurship with a practical, process-based project in which students develop a business concept in teams.
MGT-420: Climate entrepreneurshipClimate entrepreneurship is at the core of developing sustainable economy. The students learn climate aspects and practical view of launching a sustainable venture by developing a business plan covering market analysis, business model, go to market strategy, finance plan; and pitching to investors.
BIO-311: NeuroscienceThe course starts with fundamentals of electrical - and chemical signaling in neurons. Students then learn how neurons in the brain receive and process sensory information, and how other neurons control the behavior of an animal. Furthermore, memory, learning, and brain disorders will be introduced.
