This lecture discusses the limitations of current wound monitoring methods, highlighting the need for advanced sensing technologies to improve wound care. It presents innovative solutions such as pH sensors and fluorescent detectors integrated into wound pads, enabling real-time monitoring of wound healing processes. The lecture also covers the development of user-friendly interfaces for data collection and analysis, as well as the societal and economic impacts of these technologies in chronic wound management. Furthermore, it explores ongoing projects aimed at enhancing point-of-care testing and developing non-invasive wearable sensing patches for continuous health monitoring.
