This lecture covers the practical realization of Stirling engines, including different schemes such as isothermal processes, regenerator, and heat exchangers. It also explores various applications of Stirling engines, from solar power plants to cryogenics and portable refrigerators. The advantages of Stirling engines, such as low vibration, easy maintenance, high efficiency, and versatility in fuel usage, are discussed. However, challenges like piston sealing, thermal transfers, and control difficulties are also addressed.
