This lecture introduces the concept of electromagnetic duality, a theorem that establishes a symmetry between electric and magnetic quantities in Maxwell's equations. By applying this symmetry, one can automatically solve the magnetic part of a problem once the electric part is solved. The lecture explains how to symmetrize the equations by introducing magnetic charge density and magnetic current density. It also covers the process of generating a dual solution by transforming electric quantities into magnetic ones and vice versa. Through examples, the instructor demonstrates how to apply electromagnetic duality to find alternative solutions for different sources in the same medium.
