This lecture covers the principles and applications of acoustic tweezers for manipulating micro- and nano-objects. Topics include acoustic levitation, radiation pressure theory, standing and traveling waves, particle manipulation techniques, and the use of multiple transducers for object manipulation. The lecture also discusses the implementation of acoustic levitation in air, acoustic impedance, and the generation of standing waves for particle trapping. Furthermore, it explores the concept of acoustic holograms for moving particles to predetermined locations and the atomization of droplets using acoustic force. The lecture concludes with a discussion on the transport of elongated objects and compound micromachines powered by acoustic streaming.
