This lecture introduces various sources of geospatial data, including data available on geoservers, digital elevation models, downloadable datasets, and satellite imagery. It covers topics such as client-server architecture, tile decomposition, WMS and WFS services, and manual tiling tools. The lecture also explores virtual globes like OpenStreetMap, Google Maps, and Bing Maps, as well as commercial satellite imaging services. Additionally, it discusses models like ASTER-DEM and SRTM, and provides insights into physical geography, environmental data, and human geography.
