It explains how the immune system, crucial for fighting infections, is involved in various pathologies, including allergies and autoimmune diseases. The lecture also covers therapeutic approaches for immunosuppression during transplants and utilizing the immune system to combat diseases like cancer through immunotherapy. Additionally, it introduces key immunological techniques like ELISA, Western blot, and flow cytometry (FACS), structured in a six-week course format with videos, quizzes, and online exercises to ensure understanding and progress.
