This lecture covers the simultaneous mixing and chemical reaction, including the effect of complete segregation on reactor performance, mixing classes (macromixing, mesomixing, micromixing), and the impact of segregation intensity on conversion and selectivity. It also discusses the experimental mixing time characterization, the IEM mixing model, and the ranking of mixing time constants in different mixing scales.
