This lecture discusses different models of urbanity, which are reflections of societal structures and values. It covers aspects such as density, compactness, public space, functional and sociological mix, intra-urban polarities, productivity, and the preservation of the natural environment. The lecture also explores the self-valuation and identification of urban societies, urban scale polity, and urbanity models based on continents, urban area sizes, and gradients. Examples like 'Amsterdam' and 'Johannesburg' are used to illustrate the concepts of the gathered city, fragmented urban, and dominant choices in different regions.
